Parents are wonderful supporters of their child's learning and should motivate them to practice and encourage their child to play or sing for them often. Help your child, along with their teacher, to set a routine time to practice each week. Beginning students should aim for 4-5 days a week for about 15 minutes. More advanced students should aim for 5 days a week for about 30 minutes.
